Lisa Bender is an incumbent worth re-electing. Her accomplishments as Chair of the City Council's Zoning and Planning Commmittee include helping to legalize "granny flats" to provide more housing options, and fixing outdated rules that forced homeless shelters only into religious institutions. She participated in the 4th precinct protests, and has shown avid support for pedestrian options and bike lanes-- unlike her opponent David Schorn and former Ward 10 council member Meg Tuthill, who recently attended a rally that somehow equated bike lanes with Nazism.

When Al Franken vacated his Senate seat earlier this year, Tina Smith moved from Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota to serve as the state's junior U.S. Senator as appointed by Governor Dayton.
