Her accomplishments as Chair of the City Council's Zoning and Planning Commmittee include helping to legalize "granny flats" to provide more housing options, and fixing outdated rules that forced homeless shelters only into religious institutions. She participated in the 4th precinct protests, and has shown avid support for pedestrian options and bike lanes-- unlike her opponent David Schorn and former Ward 10 council member Meg Tuthill, who recently attended a rally that somehow equated bike lanes with Nazism. She co-founded the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition (now Our Streets Mpls ) and serves as a board member and writer at streets.mn , an organization dedicated to expanding the conversation about land use and transportation issues in the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota.
