FIGHT WHITE SUPREMACY IN THE WHITE HOUSE: DEMAND ACTION FROM CONGRESS
Take action to fight white nationalism in the White House: demand that Congress stand up to Trump.
As ever, huge thanks to Indivisible for coordinating and distributing information. Find more details from Indivisible about the depth of racism in Trump's policies here: https://www.indivisibleguide.com/resource/members-congress-enough-respond-charlottesville-terrorist-attack/
Today's action item: encourage your representatives to co-sponsor legislation to condemn hate groups and demand Trump fire staff that support white nationalism; oppose the nomination of a noted birther, the utterly unqualified Sam Clovis, as chief scientist at the Department of Agriculture; refuse to support any budget that includes increases to Trump’s deportation force or any funding for Trump’s mass deportation agenda, even if it means a government shutdown; and protect the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) programs.
Please re-post this entry!

SCRIPT, if you need it (if you know your rep already supports what you're asking for, adapt your script as a thank you— yes, this is important to do too!):
"Hello. My name is _______. My zip code is _____. I don't need a personal response. I'm calling with three requests. One: I encourage Senator ________ to withold support from any budget that includes increases to Trump’s deportation force or mass deportation agenda, even if it means a government shutdown. Two: I ask that the Senator support the bipartisan Durbin-Graham “DREAM Act” (S. 1615) to take immigration policy out of Trump's hands. Three: I ask that the Senator vigorously oppose the nomination of noted birther Sam Clovis as chief scientist at the Department of Agriculture. If you could pass my concerns along, I'd appreciate it." If you have a personal story relating to any of the above legislation, it's of great value for the Senator to share during debate if you'd care to include it. Be sure to thank the staffer for their time. And let your social network know you made the call!
