The Minnesota State Legislature is back in session. Time to get back on the phone and tell them what their constituents want.

Or, if you want to strike a quick blow and get on with your day, rest assured that you're calling to oppose the suppression of free speech, increased expenses for mass transit, an awful anti-choice measure, and the like.

Yes, the "oppose" requests are the most common— we're not in a position to set the agenda these days. Resistance is our gig for the time being. So do the research or don't— but please, please call.

If you could pass my concerns along, I'd appreciate it." If you have a personal story relating to any of the above bills, it's of great value for the Senator to share during the debate if you'd care to include it. Be sure to thank the staffer for their time.

When Al Franken vacated his Senate seat earlier this year, Tina Smith moved from Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota to serve as the state's junior U.S. Senator as appointed by Governor Dayton. She's running to keep the seat this November, first in a primary (you can vote early starting Friday, June 29th) and then (preferably) in the general. She deserves our support in both races.
